Im about to cook steaks but I wanted to try marinating them in something before I cook them.

try an onion puree w/ some seasoning, at least s+p
and alcohol

I don't marinate them. Let it sit out and come to near room temperature. Salt, pepper, maybe garlic powder and cayenne. Heat up the cast iron. Brown both sides, warm in the middle.

Most don't marinate steaks baby<3

Majority use rubs.

throw simple ingredients into a blender for a simple marinade
garlic, onions, salt, whole peppercorns, whole seeds (cumin, fennel w/e)
and lots of herbs and some oil
i do this when i have a lot of extra ingredients i dont really need and need to use them before they spoil

-alot marinate their steak with a cube of beef reduction.
alot of resturants use it to maximism thier steak flavour.

-alot of places just place in a tray of olive oil and slat/pepper
then on the grill streak up.


Most steak in Australia come with a sauce on the side. :)
