Okay guys, so I've figured out how to film myself on my laptop so I might start
making these soon. They'll probably be instructional for beginner home cooks, but does anyone have recommendations of where to start?

Thanks :)

I'd say for beginner's first then gradually move to home cooks/chef style IMO.

derp

imo you should start with a "basics" video demonstrating various cuts and cooking methods (a compilation). even things such as how to properly hold a knife/cut so you don't slice your fingers off.

or if you wanted to just right into the cooking of meals I would suggest a homemade pasta (dough, sauce, maybe garlic bread)...very easy and good and can even be fun to make

Surprisingly enough, as an Italian chef, I've never made my own pasta. I can make a mean sauce, but maybe I'll do some experimenting on video with something I've never done before, it can encourage people to have the confidence to try new things.

Maybe yeah, I should start with how to work a knife, how to chop, dice, mince, etc. Then work to something basic like a stir fry or pasta sauce then take like a poll every week to see what people want to see.

Made pasta with a friend a couple weeks ago. It was quite a process, but it was good. My wife makes gnocchi from a recipe a friend from Florence taught her. That's much easier and really good, too.

Oh--and start with fire--lots of fire. :D
