why are innocent topics being closed? the process seems arbitrary to me. posting about what we had for dinner or favorite meals seems perfectly justifiable to post in our forum. i'd hate for this forum to become an elitist gathering where commoners cant share their feelings about food w/out having a culinary degree.. that would mean i shouldnt post here.

this forum should be open to anyone w/ an interest in food. whats the point of a forum if theres only a handful of 'approved' members that can post w/ impunity.

mods, please back off a bit?

Simply because this isn't a +1 forum. Feel free to share what you had for dinner tonight or your favorite meals if you include the recipe or have some sort of discussion value in your topic.

That's actually one of the reasons I wanted this forum, to trade recipes with people who love cooking without being "elitists" as you say, maybe you know a recipe for a local meal from your country or maybe you cook meat loaf in a completely different way that I do, and that's where the discussion part comes in.

I had pizza for dinner. It was badass. Then I had a banana for a snack. Also badass. That is all.

This post pretty much describes the boundary, in my eyes at least. The goal is to keep this forum about Culinary Arts, about appreciating food, cooking techniques, etc. Someone posting "PBJ SANDWICH" probably isn't appropriate. However, if one were to make a post describing a meal they prepared themselves that took a little chops, it'd probably be okay.
