Phở is a Vietnamese noodle soup, usually served with beef or chicken. The soup includes noodles made from rice and is often served with Vietnamese basil, lime, and bean sprouts that are added to the soup by the diner.

all koreans are die hard pho fans :D
the broth is made w/ pork bone, like many other asian soups. and i believe that mint is whats served with the bean sprouts. in your picture, thats cilantro on top of the soup.
i imagine this dish takes too long for me to really want to try making it but i really want to start making my own spring rolls.
i love banh mi too. viet sandwhiches.. pork + pate on ciabatta w/ vinegary radish, carrot, cucumber and cilantro..

what do u guys get in your pho?
i usually get rare steak, brisket and flank. sometimes tripe and tendon too but depends how clean the place is.

I have made it a couple times. It's great but REALLY time consuming, and since I have to drive down to the local Asian market to get the saw-leaf herb which is right next door to one of our favorite pho places, I have to be really motivated.

coriander is part of the plant that cilantro is from. cilantro is the leafy part. coriander is like the root or something. so ur not totally wrong but not right.
