Mediterranean Yellow Rice
Ingredients
Basmati long grain rice - 2 cups
Salt
Bay leaf
Turmeric powder
Step 1: Take 2 cups basmati long grain rice. Wash and rinse until the water is clear. This helps in removing the starch and will make our rice non sticky.
Step 2: Add water and soak the Basmati rice for 30 mins.
Step 3: After 3 mins heat a pan on stove. Add the soaked rice and 4-5 cups of water. Then add 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder, salt as per taste and 1 bay leaf.
Step 4: Turn off the heat once the rice is just cooked. Don't overcook the rice.
Step 5: Strain the rice. Add 1 tbsp Oil. Gently mix it. Don't break the rice
Step 6: Cool it for around 20- 30 mins
Lastly you will see that the rice has become non sticky perfect long grain rice.
Serve it with falafal or curry or meat or veggies.
Going to try this recipe which I've found on the internet, just seen that is an Indian vegetarian recipe. It's not hard to make, hopefully I'll like the taste
