Had some decent brews tonight.
Alesmith hawian speedstout. Great.
Alesmith ipa great.
Also has a local one mystery brewing, their stout. Was eh not really that thickness I want in a stout.
Was kind of watery I guess is the word.
Also finishing off this founders project pam growler tonight
I've always found that some of the best stouts pour thin. A nice nitro tapped stout on the other hand..
Just bought a 4 year old White Maple bottle from The Bruery..
I'm going to start defining my beers in my post..
A:3 Deep golden amber, 2 finger head. Lots of yeasty particles floating around, suggesting little to no filtering..
S:3 Smells like a Vinyards basement.. Very deep scent of oak and grapes, very acidic. Has a smell of earth as well, not dirt but more of the smell of autumn..
T:4.5 The opening taste completely contridicts the scent. Opens very bold and sweet, lots of caramel and vanilla.. Granny Smith apples are a key note here too. Finishes off dry and sour, like the smell insisted.. Wonderful taste, and very abundant in alcohol.
M:5 Very bubbly! It reminds me of champagne with the level of carbonation. The bubbles stay long after the beer is gone, probably one of the more sensational beers ive had.. Definetly a medium bodied beer with very heavy carbonation
Overall: 3.9 This beer is it.. It's what my local breweries try to do, but alast... I would easily rate this a 4/5.
