Enjoying a variety 12 pack of Oskar Blues.. Includes the Pinny Throwback IPA, Mamas lil yella pils, Old Chub scotch ale and last but certainly not least Dales Pale Ale...

Great variety pack, seriously enjoying the hell out of it.

Just brewed a batch of a raspberry wheat beer today, and Mrs. Surfpunk did a raspberry cider. Hope everything turns out good (will know in about a month).

For the cider, it was real simple...5+ gallons of apple juice, one pound of dissolved powdered sugar, raspberry extract, and Safale S-04 English Ale yeast. The wheat has Carapils grain, wheat LME, Tettnang and Hersbrucker hops, and Weihenstephan Weizen Ale liquid yeast. Raspberry extract will go in during bottling.

I'm a fan of hops, as well (my favorite non-seasonal/limited run beer is Surly Furious, an IPA with 100 IBU). However, I enjoy brewing a wide sort of beer, as it helps hone my craft, working with different ingredients, yeasts, etc.

Both fermenters have a nice flow of CO2 coming out of the airlocks. :)

Just picked up a 6 pack of Schlaflys pumpkin ale, words don't begin to describe the utter love I have for this beer.. Yet, a small part of me withholds content, and anger as if my ownership of said beer is a bitter, tragic comedy.. Because at the end 'around December', my beloved disappears for another year.

Easily my favorite beer.. 8% ABV, the IBU's are halfway between a nice ESB and a session pale ale, the taste is so heavy of nutmeg, clove and cinnamon, with an unremarkable finish of pumpkin pie.. No other pumpkin beer can even come close to competing..

Brb, beer.

nice :) i made a black cherry cider few months ago, nice quick and easy. Also am a fan of the 3068 wyeast pack (weihenstephan) and use it for one of the wheats i constantly brew. You do partial mash i take it?

Yeah, the burner I have doesn't have quite as precise temperature control as I'd like to do all-grain. Black Cherry cider sounds amazing. :)

I made a mash tun with a 10 gallon cooler for all-grain. It holds the temperature pretty well without the need of constant heat, but there is some variance in start/end temperatures (around 5 degrees)

Brews end up being cheaper and i think taste better
