10 minutes from Alchemist, 10 min from where Lawsons is sold.

VT/10

I've been to alchemist before, their beers are amazing. I have a bunch of friends in Vermont, in Burlington.

Fucking kills me that they don't sell out of state though, heady topper is one of my all time favorites.

Yeah, good stuff. The brewery is closed to the public now however (too much traffic at their current location). They're relocating/reopening to the public down the road in Waterbury Center//Stowe soon though!

Drinking a Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin now... great beer, much better than expected! The hops and grapefruit play well together.

From my experiences most breweries and distilleries in Vermont are VERY friendly. I have just walked up to multiple ones and been welcomed in and got tours on the spot.

Ive been wanting to brew my own beer, but after shipping costs its double in cost. To brew its still a bit cheaper then purchasing, but $40 dollars shipping for 50 beers seems extreme to me.

Im guessing then that you dont have a local brew store nearby that you can buy your equipment/grains/extract from? You do put a lot of money into equipment if you get into the process. As for batches of beer, if i stick to more general ales/wheats, its usually running me about 25-30$ per 5 gallons. If i do something a bit more fancy or an IPA, it will cost me closer to 40$.

I havent really checked local stores for brewing supplies yet, the brew ingredients is about 40 dollars and shipping is 40 dollars also, might go to a local microbrewery and ask there advice on equipment/ingredients
