Eating is not really an event to me. If you are having a large social event then sure, make things look nice..But its not going to add to how i feel about the food..I just wanna eat, have it taste good, and be on my way to the rest of my day.

Yes, yes it does. Also depends on the food.  Soup is hard I mean couple chives on top.

But u see and smell the food first. Both are very important.

U can actually do a lot of work for presentation for a soup... chips, milk/whathever foam, green oil, vegetable garnish... its a whole world out there :P

especially if you use a wide low bowl where you can arrange things.

as long as the flavour isn't changed, i dont care about presentation. i see people doing fancy swirls/patterns on cakes and i never bother.

and food dye. ughh. i see people using food dye to make their red velvet cake red or their lemon bars yellow. imo skip it and use one less additive.

that all affects the experience on the whole. which is why its usually broken into presentation and food, not experience and food. the experience includes everything.

you just dont understand in what respect i use the word food.

it like Meatballs vs Foie gras

Food is only 20% of a meal.

the experience is 80% food is 20%.

no, its more like a bowl of chicken pot pie could be just as memorable as plate of wagu steak.

the food is stilll the food. just because its a damn good pot pie doesnt make that part of the experience. its still the food aspect. it doesnt have to be a wagu filet mignon for the food part to be good, too.
