I hear you my brother...
We leave the stone in the oven while it pre-heats to 500F. Then we transfer the uncook pizza to the hot stone quick. Then the dough baked real well.. so much better than I thought.
I also learned to
never use soap on that pizza stone; just water to scrub off the dirt. No bacteria's gonna live at 500F anyway. LOL
