Thank you for all the imput. i apreciated ALL of it. The controversities are good so i know what to choose.

I am looking for more cold things to do, because I am neither slow but fast in the kitchen and dont want to get up at 3 to get everything done in time.
I like the scrabled egg version, but since i have someone allergic to garlic (dont know about tumeric or coriander), ill leave that out.

I also like the idea of mini quiches where i can buy the dough and just add the rest.

chorizo also is nice. However since 4 or so guys are vegetarian i think chorizo dates would (i know they are delicious!) probably be overdoing it. too much work for too little effect?
roasting chicken seems really overdoing it. it brunch not lunch^^

There will definitely be milk and maybe some cookies too ;)

I am still insearch of more cold veggies, pumpkins and such are basically out of the question, because i'd have to cook them. However if i can do it a day or too in advance (liked sliced pumpkin with spices, I will rethink doing it. Some root veggies would be nice though. I allready will have horseradish cream, so im thinking of carrots and some normal radish.

plump fruits seem nice. So far i have dates and figs. what to add? And how to go about it?

How can you go through life being allergic to garlic? You couldn't eat anything. That just sounds horrible. Yuk.

Anyway, here's a really good and easy carrot and radish dish for you--Ca Rot: Vietnamese pickled carrots and radishes. Take an even amount of carrots and diakon radishes (you can--I have on occasion--use normal radishes if you can't find diakons) and julienne them into very thin sticks about 1 1/2 inches long. The base recipe amounts I'll give are for 1 cup of each. Spread them out on paper towels on a cookie sheet(s) and sprinkle liberally with salt. Let sit for 10 minutes to draw out some of the moisture. Rinse, drain, and press dry. Put in a bowl and add 1/4 cup white vinegar, and 2 T sugar. Mix and let the whole thing sit for at least two hours. Overnight works great if you want to work ahead. Be sure to cover your bowl tightly, or your whole fridge will smell of radish. Stir in some chopped cilantro right before you serve.

This is great on its own, or you could do something fancy and put out butter lettuce leaves as a wrap and serve with the pickled carrots/radishes, bean sprouts, chilled rice vermicelli noodles, and some minced peanuts (grilled pork would be an ideal addition if you didn't want to keep it vegetarian--marinate really thinly sliced pork in fish sauce, garlic--obviously not in your case, scallions, and a little sugar for about an hour; then grill it up either on a grill or in a pan; you could serve it hot or chilled as a meat option with the wraps)

Oh--you can also stuff dates with almonds and, obviously, leave off the bacon, for a vegetarian option.
