An easy, delicious recipe that uses parmesean and butter, but isnt alfredo:

Start cooking your spaghetti.
Pan-sear some shrimp, scallops or chicken.
Put the cooked meat aside and pour a big glass of white wine into the pan with a teaspoon of chopped garlic and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Let the liquid reduce on medium heat until 80% of it has evaporated.
Turn off the burner and add a half-stick of butter and a quarter-cup of parmesean to the liquid and stir. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
When the butter is melted, add your cooked spaghetti and seared meat to the pan.
Toss it together and finish with some parsley and some extra parmesean.

my spaghetti recipe is usually something like this, lmk if you want exact amounts of stuff, just being lazy and not pulling up the doc for my recipe :P
-boil water + noodles
-Brown either Italian sausage or hamburger in pan, add diced onion + diced red / green pepper as desired, as well as a bit of salt + herbs
-Make a Alfredo sauce if i have the ingredients
Some good herbs to go on it are Basil / Oregano / parsley / chervil / Marjoram if you like any of those

Its simple, and tastes pretty good. I'd suggest the Italian sausage with it, but the hamburger is generally cheaper.

I too eat a lot of spaghetti. After a while I was getting tired and bored of the standard spaghetti with red sauce and meatballs (or groundbeef). So I decided to do a baked spaghetti instead. SOOOO much better.
