If you guys ever visit San Diego, there are a ton of great brewerys here (stone, ballast point, green flash, Hess, pizza port). My favorite craft beer is the green flash west coast ipa. I'm fortunate to work two blocks from the brewery so I frequently visit the tasting room after work. My go-to bottled beer is the lagunitas ipa

The sculpin from ballast point is great but usually somewhat pricey

Drinking some ghost faced killah. I would not recommend. 6 peppers including ghost pepper go into it. Pretty damn hot beer

i dont usually buy craft beers as theyre expensive and i never know if im gonna like em.  and i tried an ipa once and it was way too bitter for me.  but the local beer store here had some on sale for two bucks each to try and move em since they werent selling so i figured for two bucks each ill pick up a few that sounded like i might like em.

first one i tried was newton brown ale from horseheads brewing.  it was surprisingly good.  a little bit bitter on the finish but not overly bad.  idk if id pay full price for it, but im gonna go back and see if they still have a few more of em.  two bucks for that id definitely pay.

i picked up a few more of the newtons and tried another - rye p a, also from horseheads brewing. was ok, not as flavorful as the newton, imo. oddly, my wife thought the newton was more bitter than this one; i though the opposite. maybe she just didnt remember it right or something, idk, but i thought the rye p a was kinda flat, just bitter tones while the other had some nice maltiness to it.
