You should put the fish on top of the potatoes, to give more height and volume, better presentation.
Thats about it. :)

Simple burger with a twist

Whip up your favorite burger mix

For example:

Ground beef
Oatmeal
Crushed red pepper
Salt
Pepper
A couple eggs

Grill them to your liking
Top with one slice of provolone and once slice of American cheese

Now for the twist, put miracle whip (or mayo) on one bun and peanut butter on the other

Put it together and enjoy

I haven't tried it with any other toppings (lettuce, onion, tomato, etc) yet, but it was delicious as described.

hedonism, i tried ur clam linguini recipe, it was very simple and equally tasty.
here is a simple staple of korean cooking. its called 'bulgogi' a frequent translation being bbq meat.

ingredients:
2 lb chicken thighs or breasts, or thin sliced beef (ribeye or other tender cut best)

1 onion
1 bunch green onion
1 bulb garlic
2 tpsp ginger (fresh grated or fine chop)

2 cups soy sauce
3 tblsp sesame oil

1/2 cup honey (or sugar if u dont have)

the marinade:
fine chop onion, rough chop green onion (finer towards root), grate/chop ginger, smash garlic (i just flatten w/ knife and then fine chop)
mix in 2 cups of soy sauce, 3 tblsp sesame oil, 1/2 cup honey, 1 tsp black pepper
throw this on top of meat in a dish or ziplock, and marinade 12+ hours (ideally 24)

there are two options to cook, grill/fry or braise.
if grill/frying just cook at a normal temperature and time and ur done. garnish with finely chopped green onion
i prefer braising cos the soup is really good with the meat.
to braise, add marinade mix to a pot, fill with enough water to about enough to cover the meat, dont use too much.
bring to boil then lower heat and let simmer for at least an hour (4+ hours would be better)
reseason to taste w/ soy sauce/salt for salinity, honey for sweetness, and serve garnished with finely chopped green onion.

thats the traditional recipe but u can experiment with different herbs, spices, acids, alcohol.

hmm i didnt know you can use chicken with this

ive only ever had it with beef lol

Quick Indian dinner (original recipes based on local Indian restaurants):

Sikh kebabs

1# ground lamb
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 medium yellow onion, diced
1 egg
1 tpsp minced garlic (or 1 tsp dried)
1 tbsp minced ginger (or 1 tsp dried)
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp garam masala
1/4-1 tsp ground cayenne pepper
salt & pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl; mold mixture into 6 more or less equal cylinders--yes, they are rather phallic...have a chuckle then move on. Broil for about 5 minutes , turn 1/2 way and broil for another 4-5 minutes. They should be pretty browned on the outside; some of the vegetable pieces will start to char.

Saag

2 large bags pre-washed baby spinach (or regular, or wash a bunch of it yourself--pre-washed just makes it easier)
1 medium yellow onion, diced
1 tomato, diced
1 tpsp minced garlic (or 1 tsp dried)
1 tbsp minced ginger (or 1 tsp dried)
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp garam masala
1/4-1 tsp ground cayenne pepper
1/2 cup plain yogurt
Canola oil (or ghee) for frying
salt & pepper to taste

Saute the onion over medium heat in a dutch oven until soft. Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Add the spices. Add the spinach 1 bag at a time. Sir until it wilts, then add the second bag. Stir frequnetly until the spinach has all cooked down but is still bright green. Add the yogurt 1 tpsp at a time, stirring each addition in completely before adding the next. Transfer to a blender and puree.

Serve kebabs and spinach with additional plain yogurt and premade naan or pita bread.

Nice. Best advice: keep it as rare as possible. Not much more depressing than overcooked filet.
