well when i was there pringles were a lot cheaper than in germany and beer was about 0,26€ (about 0,4$) per litre.
i was in budapest 2003.
No major crisis there i know of happened since.
i also googled it and beer now is 1,20$ per litre
i think you are getting scammed.

or you are mixing up the countries...

obviously im exaggerating lol

but they are a specialty item and quite expensive

... and germany is a tourist location, not a small milk-from-a-cow town in hungary.
