Hagerstown Maryland

Probably ditching the whole dinner menu. Might ditch the subs EXCEPT steak n' cheese, because I make a banging one of those (combine the steak with a burger somehow to make a new burger? Idk).

I need help on some more sides. Thinking of combining the sides and appetizers menu (have everything. [except wings] available as a side, bust just have small size [normal side] and large size).

Might keep chicken Parm sub (special?) because I'll have all the ingredients.

I had a whole list of like 15+ burgers I had, but I can't fucking find it.

Keep suggestions comming please. You guys are helping a lot. I'll post any changes I make and then a full menu here and there.

As for drinks. I'm 99% sure I'm going with Pepsi. Seems more popular around here and they have Mountain Dew, enough said. As for the drink prices, I won't know till I talk to Pepsi and figure out prices, and then figure out what kind of cups/sizes I'm going to use and so forth.

Mixture of fast food and mom and pop shops.

Never did the shopping but there's a meat shop up he road from my house, mostly likely be able to work out a deal with them. Farmers market up the road too, and a Sam's Club nearby as well.

not just an issue what you shop but
you have to set the menu to ensure that you use the maximum amount of produce you procure
no good to have menu items that require ingredients which do not turn over fast enough and end up in the rubbish bin
one of the biggest problems for any food outlet is to avoid wastage
and the second biggest problem is that produce goes stale and drives customers away

btw, good items which last long you could put on the menu would be a stew, soup or curry (and ready for immediate serve) [but make it only one or two]

also another idea: when you check out locations check also out offices close by
maybe you have luck and find one or two which might be prepared to take a standard selection off you every day or ring orders in for lunch delivery
was living close to a pizzeria which had good connections to a department store, every lunch time they delivered 50+ pizze

This idea sounds a bit like Ravage Deli in Perry Hall.

Dont want to sound rude but if ur asking for advice here then you are totally not ready to open a restaurant. Have u ever been in charge of the food cost somewhere? U know everything to calculate? Do u know what break even means? Anyway good luck.

Even though it's a burger joint, would love some calamari.

Yes I've managed a couple restaurants over the last few years. Just looking for suggestions on the menu nothing more.

from the response you gave in post#13 i assume that all the managing you did was shift management in some fast food outlet (correct me if i am wrong)
and that is totally different to managing a restaurant (apart from some aspects of people management), 'hofx2' certainly has a point with post#16
either you need those skills (and more) yourself or you need someone who brings those skill into the team

but i am glad that you recognise that not everything the odd person wants needs to be on the menu

No, I've been the general manager for fast food places though. My grandparents used to own a restaurant that they let my dad manage as well, and I would help them with all that.

I know how to manage food cost, I know how to quickly prepare everything I listed on my menu, I know how to train and coach people. I know I can pull this off, I'm just here asking about my menu, nothing else.
