chicken supreme stuffed with spinach/mushroom/cheese mix (can go into more detail on the mix) with a cream sauce and to be different you can make risotto balls breaded in panko and fried for your starch

relatively easy to prepare and cheap

depends....

carb free? gluten free??
vegan? allergies?

i would suggest hitting up an indian somewhere and getting a good price on salmon...
$1/ lb is probably the best price you will find...
broil that salmon in tinfoil with a little salt n pepper.

if you cant get salmon try for crab you can get lots of crab for 50$
boil up whole crabs in a LARGE pot with rocksalt and water. (or sea water)
just crack the shells and eat teh protien ^_^

the leftover cash can be used for side dishes.. like chips or potato salad... beans etc....

150$ is quite a feast for 14 people if youre making the food yourself..

make or buy puff pastry.

cut into squares and back over the back of a muffin tray to make puff pastry cups. leave slightly underbaked.

roast 2x roots of choice, such as yucca and sweet potato.

mash and mix each separately with a bit of egg. if using something softer like sweet potato mix in some white potato or flour to thicken. you can also add complimentary spices if desired.

put a large star tip in a pastry bag and fill with the potato mixtures, trying to get one on each side, so it comes out swirled.

fill the cups, brush with melted butter and bake at 400 until the edges start to brown.

for a protein, salmon is always good. ill be making about 70 lbs of that tomorrow... brush with sauce of choice and bake at 325 for 14 min.

for a veg, stir-fry green beans (preferably in a wok) with soy, garlic and sesame seeds.

Make your own pasta (ravioli) and stuff it with some sort of cheese mixture and then put an egg yolk inside! Then cook the pasta without cooking the egg yolk inside.. its a really cool technique and tastes delicious :)

If you wanna try something different, make a Smörgåstårta (sandwich cake)

"The eggs were boiled until the yolk had set, but not so long that it started to discolor (never do that, please. It's disgusting)"
LOL! love the freshness.

i'd suggest doing fresh tacos. the only bad thing is it would require u to be at the grill throughout the meal instead of just before.
but u can buy pre marinated meats from ur local mexican carniceria for very cheap. and most importantly, it makes for a convivial atmosphere.
garnish to ur taste, pico de gallo, guacamole, salsa, onion, cilantro, lime, crema, etc depending on ur meat.
i might do rounds of some kinda fish, sirloin, pork belly, chicken thigh.

i dont think u even need sides. mebe a salad if ur not including a crispy green in ur garnishes. mebe a ceviche for appetizer?
wash it down with mexican sodas or horchata.
