Use a good quality kalamata olive instead of your generic black canned olives, waaay more tastier...
And as for the dressing, just use a really good quality olive oil, with fresh basil or oregano (or both)... avoid commecial dressings...
These are my thoughts.
Extra virgin / first pressing olive oil.
For some bite, try making your own croutons to add to it
