Nothing beats ramen if you're on a low budget.
They cost like 10 cents per pack if they are on sale.

Hate ramen with all my heart. Had way too much of it freshman year.

In philadelphia the only local market is when the amish come occasionally.

Okay i will take a look any specific recommendations?

theres so many things, like chili, canned meats and vegetables u can throw into your pasta or soups
things that are totally premade dont taste as well and u might get tired of them arent my reccomendation :P
if u like salads, try three bean salad with all canned beans + canned vegetables + a little fresh or dried herb (parsleys nice for this salad)
almost any dressing goes with it, make ur own too; dressings are cheap to make
dressings are usually mostly oil + seasoning

theres also jarred goods and alike
an example: u can get mojo marinade in a bottle, marinate your chicken or beef overnight
throw them in the oven after u drain it a bit and pour some jarred chimi churri for a nice cuban style meal

if u do get tired of canned goods, try replacing the ingredients by upgrading to fresh chopped vegetables (i believe they sell many things like that prechopped) or u can start practicing with a knife and cutting board

What are some good recipes for a college student with a limited budget.

Looking for very interesting foods that are quick and easy to make.

Chicken wraps
Chicken Caesar salad
sandwich (with whatever cold cuts you like)

soup
grilled cheese
omelet with shit load of stuff in it (mix of breakfast/lunch)

DINNER

chicken (either grill boneless breast on bbq, or cut up in lanyards and cook on stove)
spaghetti (or any kind of pasta)
homemade burgers on BBQ
steak on BBQ (when I'm feeling rich)
frozen pizza (about only once a month)

pm me if you want more specific recipes... all these are really simple to make and pretty cheap (I buy chicken in fucking bulk when it's on special then freeze it). I'm currently in 4th year college, so I've been thru your problem and I learned whats good and easy to make that doesn't take too long

Nothing resembling ramen or frozen pizza items :P I hate that now lol.

Smoothies tend to be too expensive because of fruit/vegetable prices (I live in the city). What cheap items would you recommend using?

I like homemade Italian food, but I feel as if I got into anything it would be really expensive.

I like dishes involved with pasta.
Lighter / healthier stuff too, I eat a lot of junk food.

I make smoothies for a living and they definetly are not expensive. Get a bag of frozen strawberries, some tropicana, some ice, and some bananas and you're set for a week. If you don't like strawberry banana you could go with coconut milk/pineapple juice/ banana/ice for a good tropical delight.

Mhmmm smoothies

ya this is wat i was gettin at too
idk much about prices but i figured smoothies should be cheap to make and they're ez to get in the freezer sec... there are also cheap canned juices (also concentrated juices) definitely helpful for saving trips to the store if u stock up and long shelflife

Beef roasts, potatoes, carrots.. 4lbs of meat, usually around 12-15 dollars, lasts few days of filling meals.

When I was in res last year, I basically lived on:

Perogies
Tacos/fajitas (all you need are shells + cheese and then add in whatever you have in your fridge)
Nachos
RAMEN <3
Frozen vegetables
Ridiculous amounts of pasta

^___^

If you go to your grocery store, just buy all the big bulk packages of stuff, it saves money in the end. It's not that hard to budget in college, just look for the weekly deals and be stupidly frugal.
