I boil everything. You've never eaten until you've had a hard boiled steak.

What type of cut of meat? I know many recipes, styles of cooking, and different techniques depending on the cut of meat which you would be using.

Depends on what youre cooking but usually for the basics you want a hot pan and hot oil so you can get some color (and therefore flavor).
You dont want to start meat on low temp (theres some exception but meh).... also to contiune the cooking without burning, use the oven...

I prefer to sear it off nicely in the pan with a very high temperature on the stove with just a little bit of oil in the pan.

Once seared till color on both sides, wrap in a puff pastry, slather it with butter, then finish it in the oven.

The trick is to get just enough but not too much of a sear, in conjunction with not over cooking it in the oven, nor having raw puff pastry or meat.

Can be hard, but very well worth it!

If it's just for you, or you and another person, then I HIGHLY recommend investing in a George Foreman Grill. You can could several types of meat on it, ranging in all sorts of thickness. You can even make kabobs on it. All you need to do is season or marinate the meat you're going to use, preheat the girll, and pop it on. Since it's heated on both sides, you never have to flip, and all the fat is drained. 10 minutes is usually the max amount of time anything takes to cook on it, and I've never had something come out bad.

grill without oil meaning roast with high heat. then put some liquid (water, milk, sauce, creme fraiche whatever) over it and add veggies.

not roast, just cook.

or use ground meat to make pasta, casserole whatever.

cook stews. like chili con carne.

look into fish dishes.

you got LOADS of options.

The trick to learning how to cook is just to do it and learn through experience.

Pick a random recipe that sounds good to you (if you need help finding a recipe, try looking at http://www.whatthefuckshouldimakefordinner.com/ and clicking the meal named; it will take you to a recipe for it). Buy the ingredients for it, and then make it. If you follow the instructions to a T, it should turn out fine.

Gonna have to give me more instructions
How long do I bake it and what temperature?
do I put anything on the tray?
like do i put foil on the tray then the meat? or just put the meat on with oil on bottom

If you have a cast iron or stainless steel pan without plastic handles or anything that will melt at high temperatures, you can try pan roasting.

Sear the outsides of the meat on a high temperature with oil (Just enough to get it golden brown and crisp, you're not trying to cook the meat fully at this point, just trying to gear a nice sear on both sides)

After it's seared deglaze the pan with a couple tablespoons of wine or water, place the meat (Still in the pan) In the oven to finish cooking. (Temperatures will vary on the type of meat and the cut of the meat)

You can also use a roasting pan to do this as well after searing it in the pan, but it isn't the same in my opinion.

Depending on what different types of meats and shit you enjoy, you can cook it a bunch of different ways.
