I'd be up for that. Probably more often interested in judging, but I'd probably take a shot once in a while. As an interesting aside, a recipe competition could also be interesting. As many members as want to could try submitted recipes and rate them. That could be fun, too.

I'd judge for sure
being a hungarian all my food looks like slop but tastes beyond good so I already forfeit

One of the main things I miss about Cleveland is the Hungarian deli. I would kill for a good kolbasz or hourka. I've ordered from Otto's in LA, but the shipping is killer.

It probably wouldn't be for fg just for fun, and very informal.

As for judges, I'm also going to gather information about those in the food service business (for example, I cook in a 4 star restaurant)

I'd judge on plating I have a culinary diploma and currently work in one of the nicest museums in Canada (civilization) doing banquets/events

edit: could even compete if I had the majority of the ingredients lying around

edit2: grats on getting the forum finally

A weekly cook-off, a fun competition between 2 or more members joining. A judge would select one recipe that everyone can agree on, and everybody makes it to the best of their ability. Obviously since flavor cannot be judged, plating and visual appeal would be one of the the deciding factors.  Basically it'd be a fun way to get people involved and inspire them to cook at home. We need to designate some professionals in the forum with enough knowledge to be considered the judges to go to.

What do you think?

Judges cant have warns.

Don't like the idea, you can make anything look good with plating, it's a huge matter of taste. Doesn't matter if the dish is the most beautiful plate of food you've ever seen, if it doesn't taste good it's worthless.
