It's basically cutting and carving or simply placing fruits on a plate/plater.... There's no set patterns... Just use your artistic side, and google some images to give you ideas maybe?

the easiest one I can think of would be edible fruit shaped as flowers using cookie cutters to get the shapes from the fruit and skewers to act as stems. if you google edible arrangements you'll come up with lots of images. The one I had used grapes as the center of the flower with flowers cut from melon and pineapple for the most part. some fruits will turn brown when you cut them, you can prevent or at least delay that by giving them a light brushing with lemon juice (not too much or it'll make the fruit taste really sour) You can poke the skewers into a melon to make them stand up, or you can buy oasis (the stuff florists use in flower arrangements) you can get everything except the fruit at the $1 store

it is, and saves tons - you should see how much these sell for and they aren't even that big!

here's a sight that shows you what the flowers look like, the orange centers are melon balls
