I just ate dinner with a woman who knows Ming Tsai very well as a personal friend. She wants to take me to his restaurant, Blue Ginger, and meet him to talk and possibly apply for a job. It would be amazing to work with him.

For those who haven't heard of him, he is a very successful celebrity chef with a couple cooking shows on the Food Network and is known as one of the best chefs in the north-eastern United States for his Chinese-American fusion style (East meets West, he calls it).

i think jap fusion is more trendy but chinese fusion is really where its at in terms of flavor. u'd become the boon of culinary arts to me if u land this position. gl mate!

one thing about him is is mass knowledge of wines , but it also ( like most chefs) made him an alcoholic. and yes i have met him

She gave me one of his cook books and I'm trying out a couple recipes today when I get out of work, I will post with how it comes out, and take pictures!



Do you have any suggestions on how I should act, etc when I speak to him? I mean of course I'm just going to be myself, but is there anything I should know before I meet him?

Why would you say that? He would not be the first celebrity chef I'd have worked for.

its not like he needs to be a celebrity chef to work for one

if he's a good cook and a good worker there's a good chance he's gonna be hired ( also depending on how close he is with tha woman he mentionned in first post, and also how close ming is to the woman)
