I'm not one to usually respond to unrelated posts to the topic, but I have to say this guy is right.

The d2 graphics were a major part in what has given the game such a lasting appeal.

These graphics just look flat out cheesy and cartoon-like. Why is there even a need to add an additional image of the item in the description? I would prefer it to be a popup type menu when scrolled over the item, just showing stats, not windows that are shown above.

As far as the text and layout, why is there is so much space between letters and lines of font? What are we, so retarded that we need huge font to understand that damage per second is the most functional attribute to look at? The font size is also way too big, and the blur in the background of the title of each item is annoying and distracts from the already too little emphasis on the name of the item (it should be in bold with letters closer together).

Rant over...

Good luck with your trade.

huh? i have to totally disagree with you. diablo 2 didn't have good graphics even when it was released. there were games with much better graphics then, and of course now there is in spades.
the reason d2 had a lasting effect was due to the game play. not a soul i've known in diablo 2 (and i've known many) have cared much about the graphics whatsoever.
but everyone's opinion is different
personally i could care less about the graphics of the game as long as they're not so terrible that it's runescape-ish.
from the videos i've seen regarding the gameplay i was not dissapointed by the graphics one bit. :)

Fair enough, we all have our own opinions...

I would just like to mention one thing, by the appeal of the d2 graphics, I was referring to the dark and simply style, the rich textures and colors, etc., not how many polygons, pixels, resolution, and/or how "3d" or realistic it is.

gotcha. i misunderstood a bit. you're talking about the ambiance/style, in which case i can agree with you.
many people that played d2 didn't like WoW because of the "cartoonish" style and overall friendly looking atmosphere of the game. :(
