I realize that the usual debate says eschutas sucks, hoto good.... but with sunder charms , it seems like the socket for a facet is more valuable now? I dont have an infinity(yet), but have -25 from griff and 1 or 2 sockets(chest and weapon if I use eschuta)

in this scenario, it seems like the socket on eschutas is incredibly valuable compared to hoto. Going from 30% dmg to 35% dmg is huge? With a 2nd one in the chest I would be at 40%...

I want to see what I can accomplish without an infinity before later getting one, assuming it stacks and I get the full benefit? does it? outside facets and infintiy I cant lower the -res further , making the socket very valuable?

Thoughts on this? what would you do? is this going to suck without infinity? Aside from bosses, everything is melting and i dont even have skillers yet

yep, sunder charms do make eschutas a little better since you get more mileage from facets.

buuuuut sunder charms won’t get you far without either crescent moon or infinity, so that’s make nova tough to build at 200 fcr.

the 5% facet damage adds to the massive 400+% light damage from mastery = its less than you think
the -res is still good however, stacks with inifnity and is never 1/5'ed

play around with maxroll d2 planner and the calculations tab. try it vs the dummy, and vs a light immune mob.

inifnity is a huge boost, as the -85 has only ever been 1/5 vs immunes

So meta is back to 105/117 fcr? I was planning to get a pricey 2/20 ammy but not sure if I still want one

105fcr has always been meta. 200fcr is a false economy flex.

hey, what do you mean the -85res from infinity 'has only ever been 1/5 vs immunes' ?

when a monster has 100 or more lightning/cold/fire res, infinity (conviction) applies at 1/5th effectiveness
Example: a stormcaster with 100 light res is only lowered by 17, to 83 light res. Then -res from gear applies normally.

i vaguely recall this, thx.

So with sunder these mobs start at 95res so infinity drops it to 10res? Then facets keeps dropping it right?

infinity still applies at 1/5 after sunder
gear/facet -res is never 1/5'ed

I don’t care what anyone says, eschuta is better than hoto unless you absolutely need the res from hoto.

I use a 3/20/28 light eschuta with a 5/-5 facet. It gives me 2k more lighting damage and an extra -5 res. The 28 intellect gives me 6 more mana than the 15% mana from hoto. The 10 dex on hoto can kick rocks and nobody uses oak in pvm.

It really comes down to more damage vs more res, and my res is maxed anyway.
