Back in the golden age, I was a member of eCH (European Clone Hunters). Now with mIRC and all the members gone (Illum, Poozaq, Soulbringer .. where are you?), I decided its time for us to make Diablo walk, preferably before US, just for the sake of it

With D2R, no access to non-ladder stock, and high price legit sojs, the plain is the following:
- Whoever tested on US already, they are sharing nothing, so its our time to test IP and server connections. I will sell a few sojs tonight (of my own ofc) to test IP relations. With a couple of friends, we will check if there is any cross-counter or connected IP's.
- After this, I will need help from you guys to hunt for a specific IP, we will stress test how many games will a certain IP handle. Everyone can take part. You will be given a method to check game IP -> you will create a game and MF there or idle, your choice -> we need to see how many games until the IP will be full or lagged out. This will happen tonight.

This PWE will be 125 slots, happening tomorrow evening (2021.10.07.), if all goes well and servers are stable.

Gonna have to see how big of a pain will be to organise..
So here is the full plan:
- Get 125 EU players with 1 soj each
- Get a
JSP mediatorto hold all the sojs
- Mediator will pick the IP, 15 minutes before the event, via the following rules. Mediator will create 10 games on EU, and note the IP's. The most common IP will be chosen as hot IP. In case all 10 games come up with different IP, medi will create games until a match is found from the note of IP's. This is needed to pick the server with the less stress possible.
- IP's will be handed out to buyers 15 mins prior to walk. This is crucial to cut IP leaks to a minimum, but enough time to find a game for yourself.
- SOJs will be sold by mediator only: There will be 1 Soj sale prior walk to ping time games and to see that all works as intended. Rest of the SOJ's will be sold until Diablo walks. 75-125 as before, I hope

What happens to excess Sojs? If lets say, Diablo walks at 100 soj's, we have 25 extra. Plan is to sell them for fg, and equally split the fg between everyone who joined this PWE.You may ask, why am I doing this? Whats the catch or how am I gonna get FG rich? Tbh im just too old to care for game wealth

We figured out a way to print game IP's:
- Hit your WIN key and just type in powershell
- Search should auto highlight the powershell App.
- Rightclick run as admin (this is a must, or it wont work)
- paste this string and hit enter:
netstat -anob | Select-String -Pattern D2R.exe -Context 1,0 | findstr :443 | findstr ESTABLISHED | findstr /v 37.244.28.80 | findstr /v 24.105.29.76The two excluded IP's are EU service IPs. Most likely this command wont work for US. Havent tested on US.Update 2 @0:45 CET oct 6:

Time to share testing results from yesterday! In a nutshell, not impossible but definately harder than I was expecting.
- We created hundreds of games with ZERO match. The whole game IP can change, not just the last section.
- The netstat command and the filter we added 100% works (fyi the filtered out ips are bnet service ips such as chat, etc. there is another service IP that shows up from time to time with .06 ending - we assume its a stealthpatcher or warden.. it comes and goes).
We confirmed by killing the netstat result connection -> game instantly disconnects with msg: "Connection Interrupted", you get booted to lobby. Same as it was with the old servers.
- Now the problem: the result IP's are not direct game IP's. By a simple IP whois, you can check for yourself, its a Google Cloud service IP. What does this mean? It means Blizzard is using a Google service connect players to their servers. At this point, its impossible to get direct game IP.
Why are they using a middleman to connect players? Well, ddos protection, dupe protection (back in the old days, most methods required server lag). Its a good thing for the economy, sucks for dclone hunting...
-We did test sell SOJ, got a counter "3 SOJ sold to merchants" on 37.244.11.191. NO other games had visible soj counts that we were holding. We even had a neighbor IP, closest we could get was 37.244.11.54. No SOJ msg in any game what so ever.
I will repeat the testing this evening with more sojs and more variations, 3 different sell games.
My conclusion and assumption so far:
Scenario A
- DClone event is not region wide, bound to IP's as before.
- Because of ddos protection, we will never be able to see our connected game's IP, unless Blizz patches it. If this is the case, the only sane way to help players is by giving the servers numbers. Lets say blizz patches this in, you should have an extra line ingame under time, gamename, etc saying "Server 01" or whatever they wanna call them. I totally get them if they wanna hide IP but we NEED to be able to identify servers or its gg.
Scenario B
- Dclone event is region wide
- SOJ sell msg not showing to ppl mean nothing. Yday counter was 3 for me. I will sell more, each in different games, taking 10 mins between sales. If this theory is correct, it I will get a 4... 5... 6... each in different games.
I also talked to the mediator team (Candyzcanes, who also talked to senior mediator team about this). They cannot mediate this.
So here im asking you all, if you are friend with a mediator, try to ask them to reconsider, this is not a sale, its a community event. And I dont want to touch any of the entry soj's at all. All I wanna do is to make this happen.
If none of them can help, we could settile with a Trusted tag (old profile user). I need help figuring this part out!
