maybe I built it wrong as I just kind of used what I had spare to gear my 2nd barb for leveling purposes, but overall the clear speed and dps output seems significantly less than a dual grief pb 300 strength build with a reaper toll merc.

I am using:

warshrike (non-eth)
eth lac
guillaumes cham
highlords
nigma
2x fcr ar leech rings
arach
LoH
war travs

grief/hustle pb on swap for BoS proc.

merc is might with pride, andariels visage and fortitude.

gcs are all 10max/ar/life

skills are max bo, double throw, throw mastery, double swing, 1 pt into ww/frenzy/passives, rest into find item.

I know that the first upgrade would be to swap to an eth warshrike, but based on the damage I am seeing trying to solo chaos tz seals in p8 games that the kill speed would still be far below what I would consider viable. Additionally, (and maybe it is how I have the weapons setup), the 'attack causes enemy to flee' effect of lacerator is annoying me too as it removes amp and makes the mobs i'd like to pierce thru run away and scatter.

can someone who swears by the double throw build either give me some pointers as to what i am doing wrong? or is this build just way hyped up and not as good as claimed. I had no issue hitting 99 with dual grief ww and the clear speed for say, infector feels like it is maybe 10-20% of what I am used to.

show me wug. I kind of want a refund after seeing it take a minute to kill infector of souls and his boys. ww barb can take em out in 5 seconds flat or less.

in retrospect it should be obvious that grief +4fpa attack from ww + decrep is going to way outperform lac/warshrike with amp + conc. even with the pierce there is just no way the dps comes close imo. I doubt a faith merc would change much as my speed is topped out with burst of speed proc'd.

I personally liked WW more too, but i didn't even use what most do. Throw seemed better in areas with mass density like tombs, but when you got to zones like cold plains, WW all day. I definitely preferred WW in all areas when I am elite sniping low health mobs.

this is basically the only logical way to hit 99 with a barb imo. hoto teleporting and elite + pack sniping. maybe throw is better in areas like flayer cuz they are squishy and grouped up enough. it definitely sucks against infector of souls tho vs dual grief ww

i would cheat and use max chant, full str with a bo barb. My offhand either being a 30/30 pb or 5/5 wizzy with a fire sunder. Merc wore infinity. I also would switch gloves pending on zone Loh or ghoulhide or FCR gloves if the other two didn't give me any benefits. Infinity is sneaky good because it reduces defense too!

iirc you rock a1 merc with fanat and then a 2/20/2os barb circlet. This gives you higher fpa and higher hit land chance far outweighing pride+might.

I think the real decision now would be do you use CBF Boots so you can use New jewel in circlet + 15max/15ias jewel as if i recall, you need a 15ias jewel in helmet as well.


But someone else can get more specific into the details.

it's very good with chant and infinity merc! I 99'ed one a couple seasons back via tz. gear wise, the only big difference is eth warshrike, razortail, gores and 2barb/20fcr circlet with ias and max damage jewels. Make sure you hit 105 cast and you're basically just throwing down bosses and unravellers. This way the flee isn't so bad, and is kind of beneficial in a way. You're kind of just telestomping in a way, more like a hammerdin.
