First time playing ladder...started with 1200fg with a sorc and mostly bought resold items here to get 4kfg. I just invested in a barb horker and spent half my fg.

Im hoping this would be an "investment" to farm/hork items. Realistically is it hard to make that 2kfg back and more? OR would i have been better off holding the 4kfg and just waiting til 3rd/4th week and then build a character for cheaper prices...

All rng. If you spent hours grinding and don't get shit to sell, then not only have you wasted fg. You also lost time :)

It's worth it if your gameplan is to sell every gems and reroll for circlets or rings.

Making fg after 5k is easy. It's the same with real life economy. Let money make money for you.

Started last ladder season (ROTW) with 0 FG and 0 items except a terribly rolled enigma. Sitting at ~140k value today (my fg+unsold items). The fun part is only 5k fg came from ladder. From then on, I just traded to 140k in nonladder from that 5k. I dont buy and sell, if you check my rune prices they are always below or equal to market price. Most of my trades are in-game trades (I play the game not jsp). I could get way more if I played D2JSP.

It’s always worth it if the FG you spend increases your enjoyment of the game.
