Was wondering if this would be worth doing for smashing chaos with some people who buy boosts, or just stick with dfathom and save the fg.

doom is only really useful for clearing immunes, and I question even how much if you already have high lvl cold mastery. It slows down kill speed for everything that you already kill, and the damage loss from losing fathom really can be felt here. There really is hardly any gain outside high cold resist immunes, aside from what is more or less the equivalent of 4-5 levels of cold mastery, relative to what a facet or stone fathom gives you.

I was thinking it might help a little for p8 chaos farming, but the more I thought about it, the dumber it sounds tbh. Especially since my fathom rolled really well.

You should put just 1 point Cold Mastery and max out Blizzard and it synenergies, ideal EQ is like ( if there is no any new items for cold sorc ) :

105 Fcr with -95% ecr from eq, -15 ecr from Merc’s Infy agains broken immunes ( Infy works with 1/5 agaisnt immune ), with BO and 1 hard point at Cold Mastery you get LvL 23-24 Cold Mastery what is -130-135% ( -26% -27% against broken immunes ) ecr so you reduce non immune mobs cold ress by -195 all the time what will set non immune mob’s cold ress to -100. You will still kill non immunes fast but now you don’t need to spend so much time agains immune mobs because theyr cold ress is more like -42% instead of +50 or how much ever you had -ecr after immune has been broken.
