I ran a rainy day test today, killing every monster in the game to see how many Heralds I could spawn in a single p1 game and how many sunders would drop..

The final result was a total of 83 Heralds spawns with only 2 Sunder drops (light/cold) and I’m not sure that Blizz got this right. While it is nice to not have to hunt the Herald down, the drop rate doesn’t seem to be much improved over the initial Herald implementation. Maybe my result is a fair amount of RNG, but I think the average drop rate should be closer to 1/25 for T5 Heralds.

Also the insane amount of shards that rain down was cool at first, now it feels way over done and the T5 Herald drops were absolute BUNS!

So per game you are 3100% more likely to find a sunder per game. Isn't that enough of a buff?

1/40 vs 1/272 is only a ~6.8x increase, calling it 600% is just a sloppy flex like they did something for us.

The real issue here is volume and burn out. Most people aren’t farming 80 heralds a game and if they are, they won’t be farming for long because the reward is nearly 0 for how long that takes on a non mosaic.

And 3100% looks like a big number, maybe even an huge increase until you realize the baseline was absolute crap. Also, they took meaningful loot from us to have this “3100%” increase.

I did around 70-80 heralds
only 1 poison sunder and it was from Horking

Not too much where they lose all their value.

Before we would literally do days and days of heralds and zero sunder drops

Even doing tzs/heralds to level 98 last season I found ONE sunder…

You are not supposed to kill every single mob in the game in full tz. Reading the patch notes you should be able to conclude that the efficient way of doing this is run density then reset, given that shards are common. I got every single charm in one magic finding session then a couple more the other day.

My farming pattern is baal, river of flame to dia, meph, andariel and flayer jungle until the t4 spawns. If t4 is done I tele tombs and finish in halls of the dead. This is very efficient and the bosses are farmed for magic finding too as a bonus

this should be very obvious.. I. just shake my head why people full clear and complain why they are miserable chasing fallens in cold plains

You lost a lot of efficiency playing zones u have to tele alot

Hammerdin w -45 magic deletes even immune heralds. Other classes can path act 5 to tombs and t5 is non issue.

A vex rune is harder to get than a sunder now. This is diablo2 btw

Sunders drop rate are fine, but heralds drop rate are dogshit and not worth farming if you have your sunder already
