I know you can Quest Bug Act Bosses (Andariel, Duriel, Meph, Diablo, Baal) for better drop rate on loots (removes potions, scrolls, arrows and other junk from drop table I believe).

Does the same work for TZ versions of the Act bosses?

You can see the improvement in drop table rates (on maxroll or other sites) when you kill Quest version of boss vs regular boss. But when you toggle TZ, the quest version of boss does not show on the list.

Do TZ versions always have same drop rate as quest bug vs. regular?

Yeah, it's either regular, quest, or TZ drop table for each boss.
They removed the possibility to combine quest+TZ a bunch of patches ago, IIRC.
BTW, regarding quest drops, trash is indeed removed, but there's also an effect on rarity (guaranteed rare or higher, when possible).

Interesting, very helpful to know. Was going to make another character to Q-bug TZ bosses for some of the last high TC chronicles but guess it won't work.

Actually, you couldn't have anyway.
Cause to abuse quest bug, the game needs to be created by a character that hasn't killed the desired boss yet.
And no matter which boss you're aiming for, that implies Baal was never killed, so TZs are disabled in that game.
It used to be possible, but only with Andariel & Duriel, cause you could perma-glitch them.
Well, Andariel is still automatically glitched, but the game switches to a dedicated pool if the area is terrorized.
And Duriel, well, they simply removed the perma-glitch entirely.

I don't think that's how the Quest Bug works. AFAIK game needs to be created by character that HAS killed the desired boss. The killing blow must come from the character that has the "Quest Cannot be Completed"
So make TZ game with high-level character, bring in quest bugged character for killing blow

That's actually the opposite.
And when you think about it, it makes sense.
The char with the quest pending creates the game, then the algorithm sets the quest drop flag, to ensure the kill will be rewarding.
The breach is that it just doesn't check who actually gives the killing blow at all.

I agree with you logically thats how it should work, but in practice, its the other way.

Can't find the videos that explain it right now but even quick Google explains it the way I described.

So maybe if others can confirm as well as help affirm the original question, that'd help :)

I'm actually 100% positive it's the other way around.
But yes, i've seen plenty of disinformation about that over the years.

EDIT: Oh wait, i'm dumb, you were right.
For the occasion, i might do a couple tests to verify if TZ+quest drops are still a thing, but my guess is that Blizzard simply blocked it, that would explain the drop calculator from Maxroll.

All good, the quest bug mechanic is a bit weird.

But yeah, if you or anyone else can confirm the TZ+Quest Bug drop rate, that'd help. Don't have any characters that can do it right now and don't want to make a new one if it doesn't work

I'll rush myself a char to Meph, cause Andy & Duriel drops might include some nasty exceptions, due to the old perma-glitch thing.
