There's actually a way to skip A2 entirely, but it's definitely obscure, and unstable.
I've seen it in action, but i never understood how it really works, and neither did the person who showed me.
Also, it seems to have a probability to fail, again, for obscure reasons.
When it comes to stable stuff, the most notable is the maggot's lair skipping.
It eats 3 character slots though (assuming you want to use it for all difficulties), but at least it's permanent (doesn't require any precollecting for each rush).
There's also the well-known A3 "walk" trick, but it's not exactly convenient.
Act 3 "walk" as in the have them walk from durance 1 to 3? That method is so ass.
