yea, but merc has no synergies. its okay i guess, should still be a pulse damage increase, but dont expect anything close to double

I prefer self use holy shock
Merc uses infinity
+3 holy shock HOJ / double dragon 3 offensive circlet/amulet ideally 1 has teleport charges and rest + offensive skills gear+ inventory
That way u get double pulse with the synergy damage
