I feel like it added an extra tier of rarity and another type of item to mf for. I mean I guess Blizz felt they made the game too easy or something? Not like everyone was running around with perfect ebugged runewords, just like not everyone is running around with enigmas.

Ebug didnt break the game or anything… just added some extra defense for merc and LLD in hc

But it was a “bug” regardless and blizz wanted to fix it

And made superior eth armor a joke. It's better this way.
