Long time player, but something I've never thought much about being how Enhanced Damage that is listed on other items (I.E. Pheonix shield) and not directly on the weapon are calculated.

I am asking more specifically because I am debating using Obsession Eth Archon Staff with Pheonix shield. Does this simply not make sense as the Archon Staff is low dmg and has no enhanced damage from obsession.

There are two types of enhanced damage

> On-weapon ed
- it increases the weapon's damage
- a weapon doing "20 to 50" with 300ed will do "80 to 200"

> Off-weapon ed
- you take the weapon's damage + all source of damage (10max on gc, 3max on sc, if you hqve some jewels with +X to min/max, 9min ring)
- you multiply this by all the source of off-weapon ed
- 400 by phoenix, 60 by steelrend, 40ed by some jewels, 450ish ed from lvl20ish fanat, 300ed from concentration from pride, 500ed from the skill you use.... you addition all those different source of ed and multiply t oyour 'raw' damage

If now you talking about an es warlock its more complicated
A lot of the base damage come from +skills (which is usually not the case, hence the huge damage of echoing) so having +5 sk might be similar to having a weapon who's dealing 400 damage

Eth Archon staff has a pretty good average damage and that could work for echoing strike
Though insight on any eth elite poleaxe or staff will be prob better

Not sure if I replied to your questions
