i am asking if orb/blizzard build is bettter or worse then the pure blizzard build

lets hear it from the people that have played both and know whats best?

also guys what is better doom runeword or death fathom ? for the build

Doom is better for blizz-orb cause you're lacking the skill points to max cold mastery.

Blizz orb w maxed cold mastery gets my vote

I have played both and I personally prefer orb+blizz since they are not on the same timer anymore and orb really helps to clear bigger quanitities well. For bosses I still used single dps + blizzard

Doom is MUCH better against immunes vs fathom.
Fathom is better against non-immunes vs doom.


Pure blizz is better for boss farming. Aim for 175 cold pen before maxing blizz synergies. Fathom would be better here (assuming you have max gear & maybe a few skillers).
Blizzorb is MUCH better for TZ (and still good for bosses if you can aim orb). Aim for 150 total cold pen before maxing blizz synergies. What seems to slow me down the most is immunes, so I would recommend using doom.

If player count is a factor for you...
Blizz is better at higher pcount (6 to 8), blizzorb is better at low to medium pcount (1 to 5).


So if you want to do everything with your cold sorc (TZ & boss), use doom and blizzorb. Stick to pcount 1-5 (you can go higher, but I don't think it's worth it).
If you want to just target farm bosses, use fathom + blizz. You can do any pcount.

Go pure Blizzard, make the damage of Blizzard and ice blast sky high with maximum penetration. Don't waste time on cold immunes or minor mobs. Blizzard is too slow for this, there are better chars/builds for the playing style. Blizzard's real playstyle is to tele around and to pop any unique or champion mob from p1-p8, works best in P8 chaos sanctuary. She is very fast and efficient at this. It's also one of the best methods to level, find items or to hunt for heralds. What separates Blizz sorc from other builds is she can do that with 300%+ mf. Tal set is very strong with her, second to doom. You use 3 x facets and go for stormshield, whitstan or moser with another facet. That's -35-40% without penalty and not considering the mastery at all.
Each point in cold mastery is only 1% penetration vs immunes. Having a high Blizzard damage is worth more. Bring mastery up to 140%, rest into synergies for the tal version. For the doom version, 1p is enough.
