would a 20fcr 3 socket helmet with 3x40ed jewels be better than shako or +2/20 ?

You do not need any +Ed from jewels on warlock. Go with 2/20 or Hellwardens

yeah using coven and shako at the moment (depends on 75 or 125 fcr)

but was wondering if 120ed on helmet would make a difference (from a min-maxing view)

I would go with +2warlock 20fcr 2socks instead if you let me choose.

Depends of your needs, 2 ist for mf, two 40ed jwls for damage, two bers for dr, two ums for @res...
