What's everyone's opinion on the main weapon and off han for a fire Apocalypse warlock?

i've been thinking about Obesseion + Phoenix Shield , Mang Song's + Ars Al'Diabolos , or Obession + Ars Al'Diabolos.

I'm thinking the -28 fire resist on the phoenix hits pretty hard and obession makes it easy to cap resists especially with a sunder charm. Or is the +skills to apocalypse and fire skill damage from ars al'diablos better?

it's my understanding that mang song + ars diabolos is bis damage setup. wear flickering flame and sunder charm for the -res
but i've been one shotting everything with obsession + phoenix, no skiller and no torch even. so i guess i doesn't really matter, in p1 at least

Mang song is jost so underwhelming with 30 fcr and only 4 allskills. Even a perfect one with -20 fire res is meh, you can't use phoenix with it and that alone is -28 fire res so...

i use obession+phoenix, flickering flame
125 fcr, 15k apocalypse dmg, consuming tainted -58 fire res +apocalypse is another -40 for the skill itself


But it is an underwhelming build as any other firebuild on areas with fireimmuns even with sunder. It does asks for more dmg on pl8 chaos or wordstone.

appreciate the input! i totally forgot about flickering flame. i'm going to try out the obession,phoenix,flickering flame setup :).

Currently using obsession and the diabolos tome with defenders fire jewel. Phoenix is a fun item and one of my faves but Diabolos is just too cool. It’s like using HOZ on a pally. I bought a lod sunder and that really brought the build online. With a conviction heph it does pretty well in p8 everywhere. Chaos is one of my fave areas to farm but I’d say it’s where it shines the least because there’s just not quite enough pierce to one shot the packs in p8. Can take 2, maybe 3 shots to kill those big packs. But counter point, the aoe is so massive that you can kill 50 dudes in 3 shots so that’s actually pretty good. 2-3 min clears I’d say solo p8. Cows get decimated in one shot on p8 though, and most tz areas are a breeze. 31k apoc damage with my build.

Edit: I also have had no issue during Baal on p8, 1 shot waves 1-3. Waves 4 and 5 take a smidge longer but hardly an issue maybe 2-3 apoc. It’s a menacing build against non fire immunes, sundered enemies do slow it down a smidge but imo the aoe clear speed is simply fantastic. I’m also not sure how much relative dmg increase phoenix is, we get a lot of -res already. I suspect a perf Diabolos with perf jewel surpasses though
