The boots are solid if you need CBF and don’t have a Cham or an open socket to spare. Personally, I’d rather run a Gface with a Protector Stone and Horadrim boots than a Cham’d Gface with Gores.
Giant Skull also becomes an interesting option here with the 10% Crushing Blow, two open sockets, and the strength bonus. You can Cham and protector stone it. The knockback might sound annoying, but if I remember correctly it doesn’t really factor in when you’re Whirlwinding as a barb.
And don’t forget what Protector Stone brings. You’re getting minus enemy resistance, some debatable additional ED that might be bugged but still appears to add some damage, plus Magic Find, Gold Find, and extra experience. The Fade proc also goes off quite frequently, which is really helpful if your resistances aren’t maxed. That’s why I argue it’s worth fitting a Protector Stone somewhere in your gear, and most of the time the easiest place is the helm since people are usually running runeword weapons and armor.
