Question:
What should I replace my Stormshield Ummed for HC survivability? I was considering Eld, Shael, Protector's Stone Unique Jewel etc. Wasn't sure since i'm only at 50 dex and unsure if dex/blocking helps Warlock much?

I'm a lvl 93 Warlock mostly Echoing Strikes and Demonology 50/50

4.4K HP self buffed, resists are all at around +232 to +254
Gear is: Eth Thunder Maul Fortitude, Enigma Mage Plate, Ber Ber in Crown of Ages, 2/10 crafted ammy, Storm Shield ummed, Laying of Hands gloves, Horizon's Legacy boots, T-gods belt

You are fine with current setup.

I would ditch coa for 20 fcr helm to hit 75fcr. Stormshield should be enough dr.

Also, put Eld into the SS and go max block. You can always get more res from charms.

Alternatively, if you already have a lot of life charms and not enough res charms, you can leave Um in SS. But go max block anyway.

Thank you for the tips! It’s been years since I last played so hoping you can explain “max block@ means? Do you mean the lvl formula for how much dex to put in? Or just putting in Eld to go from 72 chance to block to 75? I thought it capps at 75?

Whats the benefit of blocking?

You can check your current block chance hovering over defense value in the character screen.

You can always achieve maximum of 75% chance of blocking, but with the shields having higher block chance on them (72% is rather high, SS is good in this regard) you need less dex to get there.

Eld lowers the amount of dex points even more.

75% block chance means only 1 in 4 physical (non spell) attacks that would otherwise hit you, actually will hit you.
