Anyone have advice on how to increase performance? I've read a few threads from recent but nothing seems to actually involve fixes, just people shitposting.

I'm only attempting 3 D2R clients (Using D2RLoader or D2RML, same results) on low settings, DLSS ultra performance, and it chugs brutally despite running flawlessly in maxed out 4k with a single client. It worked fine in the past a few years ago on a lesser PC. It seems to be completely tapping out my GPU despite (below) being specced fairly well. Absolutely no issues hitting 240 fps on very high settings with DLSS at quality instead of ultra performance.

I've tried changing my windows 11 power mode around, tried dropping quality settings all to lowest possible, updating Nvidia driver and using the extracted files method with -direct -txt. Reasonably high end PC, with a 5800x CPU, 5080 GPU and 32gb of ram - task manager suggests the bottleneck is GPU at 97% usage but no way it's that high for 3 clients on the lowest absolute possible settings.

Next step would be, I guess, rolling back the Windows update to 23H2 but I've read from several different threads + reddit posts that this doesn't help.

You need to limit background fps limit in Nvidia settings for d2r. There's no reason for 240fps for fillers

Interesting, even if I have the in-game fps filter set? I'll give that a try

edit: tried that, nada unfortunately. I'll be at 130 fps on the main window (with other two in the background, capped at 30fps and on the lowest possible settings) and as soon as movement/action happens on my active window it drops to 15/20 fps

the detection of "main window" is a bit wonky. on the main window, I have to alt-enter to exit fullscreen, and then alt-enter again to re-enter fullscreen to get the full fps
