It’s been almost 20 years now that I’ve been playing Diablo 2, and I still haven’t stopped evolving my gameplay to keep enjoying every new season… I started with a HammerDin on LoD, and eventually moved on to D2R, starting a season with a Bow Amazon.

I’m constantly looking for (and finding) new ways to play!

With that same desire for originality, I’ve decided to go with a Lightning Sorceress this time, and I’m thinking about setting up an efficient route to farm chests.

However, I have a few questions regarding chest farming:

-> Should I wait until there are at least 7 players in the game before entering the area? I’m unsure how chests work in terms of loot scaling.

-> I remember hearing a long time ago that, for rune drops, it’s better to farm in 5-player games rather than 7-player games. Is that true? If so, why? I’d be curious to better understand how it actually works.

Could someone shed some light on this? Do we have any information confirmed by the developers, or solid data backed up by testing?
