I’m an enjoyer of this pally build because you can do close to anything. I usually run max holy bolt and foh, max fana. aura, max sacrifice and some points into zeal. One point into smite, vigor (+pre req.), sanctuary and holy shield.

Not to destroy players 8 obviously but farms FOHdin places comfortably and can do Ubers without much sweat.

Last time I went Death BA plus Andies (for ias and +2 skills which Death and FOH enjoys), Highlords for ias and + 1skill, raven, upped HOZ and Forty or Duress depending on content for chest. Dracs etc.

Question one would that set up murder the new Uber dudes you think?

Question two, given the FOH + zeal/smite hybrid how would you gear around grief PB? I just feel would be way more expensive build, or? I would tend to use COH f.e. to equip Gully face.

Anyway, not a pally expert and wondered how you would build this.

Note: not a hammer enjoyer personally, so please no lectures on the superiority of Hammerdin plus one point into smite 🙏

Just my opinions, no expert and i don't care about min-max (but i did 99 a foh zealot).

Death is too slow for me, and didn't hit good ias bp when chilled vs ubers. I use BOTD or grief for zeal. Grief is by far fastest kills, even if i generally prefer botd for the consistent leech and other bonuses. I switched to grief during 99 climb because it sped up baal kills enough to squeeze them in without slowing group play. Grief is fastest for ubers and minis.

I used hoto and 35fcr spirit swap for tele, foh and holy bolt.

Duress seems pointless when fort is available , more res, fcr, huge damage bonus. Enigma and fort are all i would use (and at some point fort only for uber tristram, enigma and scuffed res cleared the rest conveniently).

I used exile, nice QoL with the high 15%ctc life tap and allows LoH for démon damage or other gloves; im sure up'd hoz is usually fine. Cham'd shako for content, ort or um gface for ubers, gores or gtoes depending on how much crushing blow you have and how much the lack of movement affects you (with vigor and charge pal has good speed even without enigma, but moving through town, etc...) Dwarf ring is nice for damage reduction, same with verdungo or SoE belt.

Re : hammers - they have advantage, but also get bullied by dolls and have some issues due to the hammer throw pattern and speed.

My smite foh hybrid was using a chamed shako and astreon's iron ward +4 with 75% fcr. The boots were gores. My favourite non enigma armor for melee is upped skin of vipermagi because dot elemental damage can kill you in an instant. Magic damage reduced by 13 keeps you alive vs all of the dot spam by inferno lords etc.

I slap on lash wish and do Uber without changing any other gear or talents as dream foh. Faith Merc is nice with lw or doom. Have a guide in my sig.

Edit; also it's great p8 I tend to use my FoH cta swap and only zeal what FoH can't kill since aura DMG is not as great on p8
