Often times i pass by a scammer accusation post here and there,
As a normal person, i click in to read some drama sometimes

But what i dont understand is

What is the point of asking for screen shots?
When the person can easily just move the item or drop the item
And take the screen shot?

I also see “ please hover over these items or jewel or charms”
And submit a screen shot of each,

Am i missing something or the whole process is not useful?
Can someone help me understand it?

They make a bunch of steps to filter out lazy people. There’s a tonne of unresolved accusations where people had no “evidence”
On jsps side, there is way to tell if pics are doctored, but he’s got a point with the whole moving the item around thing. Could easily stash it on a merc or sell to an npc temporarily..

I would add that using a mediator is not necessarily fool proof, because the person A gives fg to the mediator, and person B with the item is supposed to give the item to person A. Person A can always claim person B never gave them the item when person B does give it; comversely, person B can simply say "TFT" without giving the item, and again, person A is left with trying to convince the mediator he never got the item with screenshots of an empty hand

and that is why person b does not give it to person a but to the mediator.

mediator collects both fg and item. then hands out both.

I've used a mediator like over 10 times, and none of the times was I asked to give the item to the mediator. It's always been one person giving the fg to the mediator, and the 2 players exchange the item. A mediator has never joined my game before. The instruction is always telling one person to transfer money to the mediator, and then the second instruction is to give the item to the other player
