Sunder on light barely mattered at all anyway. There's only a single unbreakable immune by default, some shitty WSK skeleton mages that die to merc. The only unbreakable immunes people ran into were lightning enchanted infector of souls or whatever, so its a minor convenience. Javazons and light sorcs already have such high -resists and extremely high damage and light immune monsters tend to be low hp, so even the difference between 17% conviction and 85% conviction doesn't really change their clear speed. Its not like javazons struggle to kill storm casters.
Meanwhile fire builds have to deal with venom lords, frenzytaurs, minions of destruction, arachs, hell spawn, crush beasts, etc etc. Unique minotaur packs with 150,000 HP and 120% fire resist and 66% DR and uninterruptible unslowable rampaging slaughtering bull cock, have fun using your merc

But even, i'm pretty sure it's a good thing to keep light sunder on inventory for light sorc. It's still some free -light res, instead of +1sk
People play with crescent moon, griffon, or even self wield infinity instead of hoto/3sks circlets/ whatever +sks items for a reason
