Thank you guys. I know a lot of us have responded to the trolls and not you, and I think that's poor of us.
For those of you who are curious about what all was involved:
When a Ladder date was announced, Teo reached out to a ton of friends he has made over the years in the speed running community and in his maxroll team. Not everyone joined his team because we're friends with both Llama and Teo, so joining 1 side or the other would be unfair to the other, so we helped both or did separate content. Teo researched the previous WR from LOD (10days 22hours) and had a mathematical plan to beat it by 1-2 days. The finer details I do not have, but basically it was to feed him as much exp as possible till 97. (examples: leaving party on baal waves, clearing CS so he gets Diablo kills (a hammerdin is better at leveling at this point cuz of solo clearing CS)). But the final part is so obnoxious cuz only 3 mobs in the game give exp, and we chose Diablo because act 4 load times are faster plus Diablo doesn't teleport around, have annoying tentacles or knock you back with a frozen wave. Also, not having to walk back and forth between the 2 acts.
Personally, I did torches for both of them and then eventually joined Teo's leveling team because I had heard that someone was ahead of him (from a Blizzard employee), and it was clear that Llama wasn't going to keep up. (we later heard that Teo was still ahead, so I got Jebaited!). So I joined his team doing Baal runs and setting up Diablo, and Nihlathak (which was dropped due to the death potential). Until 98 where we came up with the "TeOsRuns" idea. Now, first of all this was the most fun I've had playing this game. 3 teams splitting up the seals and CS popping for loot and racing against the other 2 teams to see who could do it faster was a blast, and it was the most efficient for Teo's leveling, but it was pretty awful for him.. such is the 99 grind.
Unsullied13 was a dear friend and I met him here, on Jsp about 6 years ago, and we got into speed running the 8man speedruns because we wanted to be first in the ladder resets :)
RIP my friend
Thank you again! <3
This right here is what I personally am looking at gaming for. Friendship, fun and lots of fun. No matter the goal, no matter the relevance for others. Love it and hopefully we see more such stories in the community.
Ignore the haters... They are the people who never get shit done and who don't enjoy shit in life. They prefer to laugh at others people happines and accomplishments instead of focusing on theirs.
Great JOB! This is not an easy FEAT to achieve.
