The position you are currently assigned to in the queue might night actually be the actual position because if a number is too high, it's not refreshed often. At least this is what Blizzard communicated in the blue post about the latest patch here: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d2r/t/diablo-ii-resurrected-1015-pc-patch-notes-build-1066477/29383.

Can't connect to battle.net on xbox one since 6am central time. No toons
