I really want a blue post explicitly telling us if Cold Mastery and items are swept up in this pre-launch nerf too.

If they're not... that's gonna be a weird and wild meta. Death's Web, crescent moon, phoenix shield, etc. all gonna look REAL nice if they really do dodge the -res nerfbat.

Blizzard commented they are aware of the communities feedback around cold mastery and disagree.

It’s very much a buff.

Before charms, infinity worked at 1/5th efficiency against immune monsters. Which would be -17 resist.

With charms, infinity works at full efficiency against immune monsters. Which is -85.

Last I checked, reducing monster resistance by 85 is more than reducing monster resistance by 17.

Buff to infinity.

fixed
Mathematically it will be better in some cases, worse in others. Depends on what you are farming.

ya, never drop it

If people prefer crescent moon over hoto, or griffon over 3light 20fcr 2sock circlet, it's for a reason

-15 light res instead of +1 skill for large portion of monsters is a good trade

Also the -player resist is reeeealllllyyyy hard to justify on those charms for many builds now.

You are right. I just read the title and didn’t realize anything changes. Thanks for pointing it out.

I happily admit when I’m wrong. And this was one of those times, simply because I didn’t read the blizzard notes.

Second time I hve ever been wrong. Gj. Mark it on your calendar.

Is that always the case? This is my Math, feel free to correct me if i am wrong. Infinity without sunder is better if you can get below 74 resists with just these two items.

With sunder, a mob has 130 lightning resist. You use sunder, so it lowers to 95, then infinity lowers resists by 21 resists. The mob has 74 resist now.

Without Sunder the same mob has 130 resist, you use infinity and it lowers resists by 85 putting them at 130-85 = 45 resist

Again, please correct me if i am wrong :)

Without Sunder, Infinity still only lowers by 21, to 109

They're saying Infinity will work at 1/5 effectiveness always.

So 130 - 21 = 109 -> still immune
