because they did the same with d3 people still weren't satisfied and left.
so they abandoned the game and put it on life support with shitty gimmicky changes and the mandatory balancing those changes require every patch but player base never returned and game died anyways and it still lacks balance and diversity ( because its on life support and a small team just dont have the manpower to make meaningful change )
probably similar thing might happen to this too with so many games coming out people just move on to the next thing and dont look back leaving a wreck behind that is barely supported at least we had 15 years to get used to the original after it was abandoned ^^

edit : and if they remove trading to tackle itemshop/d2jsp problems-whiners d2r will be even more dead in my opinion like d3 was 1-2 years after the removal of ah
or maybe they'll get it right and ppl stick with it who knows

Curious what would happen if they added a good helm or shield runeword with tele. I mean enigma isn’t going anywhere so why not give us a second option to open up different armor options?

Let me explain this to the n00bs:

Real oldschool 33rd degree freemason d2nerds (ya know, like me) all know that true pure D2 was only around pre 1.1, ever since then this abomination that wrecked bow play and melee is just the best option we have. So when Blizzard says they might make bow zon and other melee better options, this isn't an abandonment of oldschool D2, it is a small step in a return to it.
