hopefully we find out in the next couple days if it will be changed. I'm not doing another baal run if the nerfs are staying.

Yep, I have effectively quit d2r as of yesterday until Blizz says something about reverting this. If they move forward with this, they are basically moving forward with a version of the game that does not have shapeshifting builds. The nerf is so extreme that I am personally taking it as an attempt to begin phasing out shapeshifting from the game, I am not sure how else to interpret it. This is only if its working as intended and they move forward with keeping it...if it was an accident, I will be much happier, but I am very scared that the developers made this "accidental" nerf thinking it was a buff. That is an extreme accident to wipe out an entire skill tree from being playable when they maybe meant to buff it it, and if anything, shows a very poor understanding of the game's mechanics on the developers' parts

I am also not exactly optimistic about Blizz even taking notice of this anytime soon. People are absolutely flipping shit over these paladin buffs and other classes being too OP. This decimation of the shapeshift skill tree is happening completely silently in the background. People either don't know OR they somehow think that IAS is still fine because they haven't tested it themselves yet

Im hopeful theyll change it back then perhaps even buff it. How many hours did they just pay their devs in attempt to buff some melee builds? I believe this nerf was an accident. Time will tell but im for sure not wasting my time baaling or anything until we have an answer.

I really hope you are correct...I do have some concerns though even if it was an accident. One I stated up there- it seems like it was an accidental nerf when they meant to buff something to do with IAS. How in the world do you destroy an entire skill tree when you're trying to buff it? That is actually scary

Ya, i doubt theres a single dev left from the original team. These people are probably all learning the game from square 1.we need to make more of a presence on b.net forums. Link all b.net threads on this nerf here so we can leave a like and comment.

It may be like this:

1) random programmer gets assigned to D2R
2) random programmer sees the attack speed tables and wants to "simplify" them to create more simple code, or whatever
3) this person is ignorant of the downstream issues this action causes
4) people complain on the PTR
5) hopefully ignorant person in charge of changes fixes the issue

I think along with your logic, to assume expertise on the part of someone who would make this decision is wrong, hopefully

Otherwise the alternative is worse, that they knew it would nerf the tree and decided it was worth it for whatever reason

Assuming they use regular ias formula now we can check with tomb reaver:
90ias tombreaver + 50 off wep ias = 140ias, 10wsm. Lets assume 75sias from werewolf skill.

EIAS = Floor(120*ias/(120+ias)-wsm+sias
Eias = 129... But adding any ias wont help any.. Cause its capped at 75....
So werewolf skill add 75, wsm removed 10... So u have 10eias left to boost with ias...
IAS needed to reach EIAS breakpoint = ceiling((120*(EIAS- SIAS + WSM))/(120-(EIAS - SIAS +WSM)))

This gives 11...
11 ias in total is all you need to max out ur speed... So using an eth death cryptic axe + highlord and ur at max ias.

Ceiling(17*256/(256*(100+75)/100)) = 10 frames...

So u can max reach 10 frames attack on a wolf if understand correct and now every form of ias is useless more or less.

So bow is slight faster:
Ceilinf(16*256/(256*(100+75)/100)) = 10 frames as well..

So yepp, useless...

Keep the old shaper formulas, modify eias/speedincrease cap to 200 and shapers are fine... If they are really annoyed by the fact assa bear can then reach 1 frame on a 24frame rated breakpoint system, which will render the attack to fast for the breakpoint system, then they can just choose eias cap of 199 and assa wont get that problem/bug...

I did a fault, ofc u have to -1 at the end which gives 9 frames.
And fury uses 4 serial attacks which are:
(17+1)/2*256/(256*(100+75)/100) = 6 frames, guess u can reach 5 frames with bow as this hitted 5,1 smt prior to rounding..

And i did not do same fult again, since serial attacks like this dont have the -1, only the initial attack.

they just take advantage of an opportunity to moralize and appear parent-like, its always been like that on the blizz forums post 2003/2004

the bottom line is the reaction is justified given the severity of the nerf, imagine if they took away a piece from chess, like a rook on black - imagine the outrage

to say the reaction is sad is just fallacious, not to be taken seriously
